Summer 2025 — We're Moving to Costa Rica!
Playa Ballena, Uvita, Costa Rice
Well, it’s really happening...
After more than two years of dreaming, planning, and preparing, and many more years creating a vision of the life we want, we’re finally making the leap. In just a few weeks, our family will begin the transition to living full-time in Costa Rica.
We’ve found a beautiful, welcoming community in a mountain valley near Santa Elena, Pérez Zeledón, and our new home is currently being built by a local builder we’ve come to trust.
It’s all starting to feel very real—and very exciting!
As the move gets closer, we’ve already felt the beginnings of a shift. There have been many “see you laters” recently, and while it’s bittersweet, we feel grounded in this decision.
More than anything, we’re stepping into this next season with open hearts, an abundance of positive energy and focus, and the hope of a slower, more intentional life.
The Two Big Questions
Lately, the questions we get asked most often are:
“Why are you moving?”
and
“Why Costa Rica?”
So I thought I’d share a bit more about what’s led us here.
More Time, Less Rush
Our little piece of land, pre-construction
Over the past decade, our life has been… full.
In that time, we’ve:
Added three little ones to our blended family of seven
Built, remodeled, flipped and sold countless homes
Provided Acupuncture treatments and Coaching sessions from 6 different offices
Lived in ten different houses (!) between Denver and Summit County, CO
Sent our kids to six different schools
Helped one fly the nest to college in Spain, and just watched another one graduate high school
Juggled a handful of Airbnbs and rentals
Traveled, adventured, and soaked up a lot of life!
It’s been amazing. And exhausting.
Somewhere along the way, the constant motion became our norm—the endless to-do list, the packed schedules, the feeling that we could never quite catch up.
As much as we’ve loved parts of this chapter, we’re craving a shift.
We want more unscheduled time.
We want our kids to grow up with long, slow dinners, spontaneous hikes, and the kind of quiet that lets your mind and body settle.
As much as we love Denver in many ways, we just don’t see this slower pace being possible if we stay here.
Space and Simplicity
Raising kids in the city has been more challenging than I expected.
The traffic, the noise, the constant stimulation—it all adds up.
We want to give our kids space.
Real space.
To run.
To explore.
To build forts in the woods, swim in rivers, and collect beach treasures.
We’ve seen firsthand how much calmer and more grounded they are when nature is a part of our daily rhythm.
They sleep better.
They get sick less often.
They bicker less.
Honestly? We’re all better versions of ourselves when the outdoors is built into our lifestyle.
Shane and I have always felt at home in nature, and this move is a chance to fully align our environment with our values.

This Isn’t Goodbye—It’s a Realignment
There are so many more layers to this decision, and I’ll probably share more in future posts, but for now—this is the heart of it.
We’re moving not to escape, but to realign.
To live a little slower.
A little closer to the earth.
A little more connected to each other.
Thank you for following along with our journey!
This crew is ready for an adventure!
